On Sunday, September 1st, 2019, we look forward to welcoming Reverend Alecia Greenfield as our new curate on her first Sunday at St. Francis-in-the-Wood, first day at work here in fact!
Alecia comes to us from the Vancouver School of Theology where she recently graduated with a Master of Divinity and ordained to the transitional diaconate in June 2019. “Transitional” means that she is currently a deacon (so permitted to do most things but not celebrate the Eucharist) in transition to being ordained a priest, probably in January 2020. Her fist degree was in philosophy and religious studies (UBC, 1996), after which she moved to Prince George, BC, working in fundraising and organisational development for museums and cultural institutions. She was Manager of the Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum in 2005. Following an MBA in 2013, Alecia could no longer ignore her spiritual calling and began her discernment process to Anglican Ministry. Alecia lives with her husband, Jeff Calvert and a large yellow dog in Lynn Valley. She has two children, Lytton (20) and Hannah (18) who are in various stages of moving out. Her hobbies include art quilting, motorcycling and gardening.
We look forward to getting to know Alecia over the next twenty-two months, working with her and having her minister among us.
