Friends,
Lent is a season of wandering—through wilderness, deep questions, and restless hearts before God. Like Advent, Lent offers moments of coolness and balm as we turn the corner toward Easter. This Sunday, we're invited into the joyful surprise of a homecoming with no caveats.
Luke's parable of the Prodigal Son reminds us:
"You are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found." (Luke 15:32)
Sometimes Lent reveals truths about ourselves that aren't flattering or even kind. It can also stir questions about the God we follow. Yet the heart of Lent is this: wherever we are on our journey, the road we're traveling leads not to judgment but to an embrace of new life.
I wonder, as you journey through Lent’s wilderness, what would it look like if you trusted that—no matter how you see yourself—God is already running down the road to welcome you home?
Can’t wait to see you Sunday! I’ll save you a seat!
