"I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

John 6:35

Friends,

I wonder, how can we talk about the bread of life today? How can we talk about the bread of life today in a world at war, in a country with unsustainable housing costs, in a city with higher than ever cost of living? How can we talk about the bread of life today without seeming irrelevant to the world around us? I think we flip the script.

I think we flip the script in how we think and look at what we’ve got and what it's there to do for the world. When we say we follow Jesus we are saying the orientation of our lives is in the direction of love. A direction of love which over our lives helps us see and know those around us not as strangers, but as friends. Friends, whom God asks us to build relationships with for the sake of the kingdom.

Now to flip that script, I wonder, if how we accomplish the building of these relationships is by looking at how much we’ve been given to share with others. And no, I'm not just talking about your money. I'm talking about your money, your time, your creativity, passions, and your very body, all of which are created as instruments of relationship. Relationship which Jesus multiplies, by satiating our thirst for more, as we dig deeper in relationship with everyone we meet along the way.

A deeper digging Sundays help us think about. Want to know how this story ends? Come Sunday to find out.

Bring a friend, bring two!

I hear there's a party for someone after church too!
