Households around our neighborhood and within our parish are eagerly preparing for the arrival of Lunar New Year this weekend. To all who celebrate this auspicious time, I send greetings and best wishes as memories are made, traditions remembered, and the beauty of this season is celebrated. A season which is full of hope, family and renewal- a moment which asks us to reflect on the same as we enter into our own period of renewal in Lent.

In the lunar calendar, the New Year marks a time of refreshment, of casting off the old and embracing the new. It is a time when families gather, traditions are honored, and hopes are set high for the year ahead. The beauty of these cultural festivities calls us to deeper awareness of our own hope filled renewal as followers of Christ as well.

Hope is central to our faith. It anchors our exploration, it challenges our scarcity, it secures our promise of new life, and waters the garden of our soul. Hope continues to invite us into the very heartbeat of love. The heartbeat of love which is God present with us in every moment of our lives. 

A presence, provision and love made real in the bread and wine of the Eucharist. The Eucharist which brings us wholeness and renewal as members of the family of God. A family which is open to all! A family which meets in this place of celebration and renewal every week, with room for all- which includes you too!
