This year's Salmon BBQ was a time for us to get together as a community after so long having to be away from each other, but also to celebrate Angus Stuart and his contribution to this Parish community as he retires as our Rector here at St. Francis.
The day began with heavy rain but by lunch time the sun was out and it was a glorious day! As you can see from these photos there was a lot of effort to make it a very special occasion.
Our Musical Director Tom Arntzen, with his Band, entertained us throughout. Tom wrote and sang a special 'Thank You' song for Angus. He was presented with the framed music and lyrics to hang for posterity! You can listen to the studio version of the song by clicking on the link below.
Many Parishioners contributed to other wonderful gifts for presentation to Angus, as an expression of our appreciation of his time here with us at St. Francis. And, of course, Christine has contributed too in various ways over the years and she received a special bouquet as a 'thank you' to her.
The News page of the Diocese of New Westminster wesbite has also included "I Have One More Sermon to Preach" in celebration of Angus' ministry at this Church at the Sunday Morning Worship Service before the BBQ You can visit it here.
Angus, now as the story which is your life opens to its next Chaper
May the God of Grace richly bless you and watch over you and Christine
May the God of Peace grant you peace always
And may the God of Abundant Joy sustain you by his Grace
