Lower Caulfeild's history dates back to 1899 when Francis Caulfeild planned this unique part of West Vancouver, which is now a designated Heritage Conservation Area, the only one in West Vancouver. The Church was built in 1927 and so will soon be celebrating its centenary as a place of worship, and as a place of celebration and remembrance of the numerous life events of its wider community.
Any old building needs love and care to keep it functioning, and so with that in mind parishioners have been planning and fundraising since 2018 to provide for a roof replacement project that was anticipated to be needed within the next 5 years. However, the need to replace the roof has emerged sooner than expected. Work will begin next month but additional funds are still required.
St. Francis-in-the-Wood Church will continue to be here for you to join in worship with others, and for the celebration of your family's life events such as weddings, christenings, funerals and the remembrance of a loved one's life. We know that many already have fond family links to St. Francis, and for some this includes parents or grandparents. Your family's history may already be a part of the history of St. Francis-in-the-Wood.
Your donation will make a big difference. We have anonymous donors who have agreed to match donations up to $75,000 on a $1 for $1 basis - with no minimum - which means that the value of your donation will be doubled! Please be generous. Charitable tax receipts will be issued.
Either way your charitable tax receipt will be for the same amount
And will be matched 100%!
