"For my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all nations."
Luke 2:30-31
Friends,
Have you ever found yourself waiting for something you deeply long for? Maybe it’s an answer to prayer, a change in circumstances, or a deeper sense of God’s presence. Waiting isn’t easy, but this Sunday, we gather on a day which celebrates the outcome of waiting. The Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple is a moment which reminds us that waiting is often where God’s most profound work happens.
Simeon and Anna knew about waiting. Their lives were shaped by years of longing and expectation, holding onto God’s promise of salvation. And then, in an ordinary moment at the temple, they encountered the Christ child—God’s promise fulfilled in the most unexpected way. Their years of waiting turned into overflowing joy.
We, too, are invited to wait with hope. But let's be honest, sometimes, we wish God would act faster. I know that's true for me, and maybe that resonates with you too. But God’s time is always different from ours. Waiting for God's time is an invitation into the possible in an often impossible world.
Come Sunday to hear how this story ends!
All are welcome, yes- that means you too!
